During the
course of our marketing and design projects we have encountered many questions
asking what we think about certain marketing and business ideas. We chose
to share them here in hopes it may assist you with any ventures you may
be considering. Check back often as we will be constantly adding new concepts
and ideas.
Online
Communities and Dating Sites
These sites can produce very high traffic and revenue when given a lot
of thought and attention. The first thing to consider is do you have a
"niche" market or idea that would generate this traffic? If
your answer is yes then you may have grounds to proceed. Many entrepreneurs
have started sites such as these where a certain segment of the population
gathers to discuss and share ideas. Anything from parenting to web site
design to cowboy dating. As with any business you need to use the marketing
techniques and strategies that will appeal to your audience such as those
outlined on our Marketing Strategies page. Determine the content you'd
like to provide on your site, check competitor sites and offer something
they don't. If you're starting a dating site offer a free registration
period or paid service enhancements (e-mail capability, instant messaging,
etc.), testimonials from members or "matched" couples or a newsletter
listing local singles events. Whatever you decide, make it interesting
to the user. Offer something unique. Generate more revenue by soliciting
advertisers specific to your community or locality.
FREE
Television Exposure
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to produce your own television
show? Would you like to learn how to use a professional camera and editing
equipment in order to produce your show? Look no further than your local
cable provider and their Public Access Channel. Here you can produce any
type of show you'd like for airing on any Public Access channel worldwide.
There are certain restrictions on "for profit" ventures, however,
each cable company has their own guidelines on exactly how much you can
talk about your own business. You will first need to attend a "new
producer's orientation" class, a second meeting to discuss your show
idea and then camera operation and editing classes if you'd like to use
the station's equipment and shoot outside the studio. A great way to learn
a new field and gain a better understanding of outlets available to you
and your business.
