This is a hilarious video from Zoobie.tv on the repercussions of misusing (or should I say misclicking) Google Ads on your site.
The funny thing is my Adsense account was disabled when I did nothing, unlike Zoobie who clicked on his own ads.
I was told there were "invalid clicks and/or impressions" generated on my ads. What? Like I have time to sit there and click my own ads when I'm in the throws of putting my site together, not to mention, I HAVE a life.
According to Google's Disable FAQ page "Because we have a need to protect our proprietary detection system, we're unable to provide our publishers with any information about their account activity, including any web pages, users, or third-party services that may have been involved."
Huh? Proprietary detection system? They're not kidding when they said my account was disabled either. I was unable to login and get any information about how many clicks, when, etc. I wanted to see if I made $500 in one day or something really odd.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I barely made any money ($40) during the 6 months my account was active or that I had just completed the process to add a bank account with my proprietary information or that i had NOT followed Google's suggestions for placing ads elsewhere in my site pages, but instead let a solitary skyline ad wallow in the left sidebar.
Don't they have bigger fish to fry and Zoobie's to catch? I mean $40 is hardly pay dirt.
I'm not losing any sleep over a system that can easily be replaced with other advertisers such as Yahoo!, Azoogleads, Auctionads and more.
I'm not alone as far as being banned by Google. Check out these posts:

Here's an article on how to get a publisher banned. I don't know if I should feel comforted or even more angry.
